According to this post https://lists.launchpad.net/ubuntu-audio-
dev/msg00290.html the script eliminating crackling sound when suspending
the computer is considered as obsolete. I don't think so. I'm attaching
the script file here.

- save the script to your home folder

- copy the script to the pm-utils folder
sudo cp ~/01PulseAudio /usr/lib/pm-utils/sleep.d

- set the execute flag on it
sudo chmod 755 /usr/lib/pm-utils/sleep.d/01PulseAudio

- to remove the workaround
sudo rm /usr/lib/pm-utils/sleep.d/01PulseAudio
