This seems to affect me as well. The symptoms: under heavy load (while
chrome is running, although I'm not sure it's related) the disk light
starts be on constantly (rather than flashing) and after 2-3 minutes
without disk access the computer freezes completely.

Using Gnome 3 and bumblebee. Let me know what additional details would
help investigate this issue. In my syslog I see (which is how I found
this bugreport):
