Public bug reported:

All packages installation of Ubuntu 12.04 LTS

Hello
I have been using Ubuntu and the Mint variant for a few years I think since
9.04 (The Brown version). My Network printer Brother MFC-9120CN worked on the
older version. I upgraded to Ubuntu 12.04 and installed the printer. It
seemed to install properly but always gave the error message Unable to locate
printer "BRN001BA94892E".
I tried on the Mint versions the current cinnamon and the previous version
bases on Ubuntu and had the same problem. I know the printer works because I
have a laptop using Windows 7 which finds it, and a friend installed Linux Susi
which worked.
I've tried a few things to fix it but have not been successful.

I believe that the issue relates to the fact that it is a network
printer. I recently installed Fedora 17 it also found the printer and
gave 2 options to select. I selected the default. It worked.

I am not from an IT background I hope this help you be aware of the
problem and hopefully you will be able to interpret how Fedora
identifies it so Ubuntu works with it.

If you need any further information let me know and I'll do my best.

Thanks

Jeff Lee
