Hello I did try to add the package and typed in Ubuntu 12.04 LTS. Which is the whole program. This was rejected. Because the bug relates to the installation of the 12.04 and probably the previous version of Ubuntu the printer will not work on any package. Nothing would be gained for me to tick them all. I'll have a look at my report and see if I can add anything useful. I did quite a bit of reading before registering the bug. It should be easy to reproduce the problem because it happens every time I tried installing the program. Hope this helps .
I typed in an update and wasted a long time trying to include a package as it would not let me get out, then gave up. I'm happy to help so if anyone needs any info about the issue by all means contact me. Please don't ask me to keep going round in circles I'm not computer literate enough to find my way through you procedures. My Network printer Brother MFC-9120CN worked on the older version. I upgraded to Ubuntu 12.04 and installed the printer. It seemed to install properly but always gave the error message Unable to locate printer "BRN001BA94892E". I tried on the Mint versions the current cinnamon and the previous version bases on Ubuntu and had the same problem. I know the printer works because I have a laptop using Windows 7 which finds it, and a friend installed Linux Susi which worked. I've tried a few things to fix it but have not been successful. I believe that the issue relates to the fact that it is a network printer. I recently installed Fedora 17 it also found the printer and gave 2 options to select. I selected the default. It worked. I am not from an IT background I hope this help you be aware of the problem and hopefully you will be able to interpret how Fedora identifies it so Ubuntu works with it. If you need any further information let me know and I'll do my best.
