Public bug reported: During the upgrade of ubuntu 12.04 to 12.10 via the distribution upgrade GUI, the following notification window pops up:
"Could not install 'octave3.2' The upgrade will continue but the 'octave3.2' package may not be in a working state. Please consider submitting a bug report about it. subprocess installed post-installation script returned error exit status 127" At that time the last line in the Terminal pane is: "Unpacking libnss-winbind:i386 (from .../libnss-winbind_2%3a3.6.6-3ubuntu5_i386.deb) ..." (unfortunately it is not possible to copy/paste from the Terminal output, and unfortunately it is also not possible to make the terminal output window bigger so that output lines do not wrap :( ) After clicking close in the notification window, there are shown a lot of warnings (fontconfig) in the Terminal and since the scrollback buffer is tiny, it is not possible to find out if anything related to that error was shown in the terminal before the fontconfig warnings. ** Affects: ubuntu Importance: Undecided Status: New -- You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Bugs, which is subscribed to Ubuntu. https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/1075322 Title: Error during upgrade to 12.10: could not install octave3.2 To manage notifications about this bug go to: https://bugs.launchpad.net/ubuntu/+bug/1075322/+subscriptions -- ubuntu-bugs mailing list ubuntu-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/ubuntu-bugs
