The balance of evidence regarding the FirePro V5700 seems to be support was dropped in 8.982, and the AMD website is just getting it wrong when it offers 8.982.x for the FirePro V5700 in some combinations of clicking through the driver selector forms. The balance of evidence regarding the FireStream cards seems confused.
