As it seemed quite strange that I had gone so backwards in the kernels and suspension still did not work, I tried to change my PC's power supply, with another power supply and with this other power supply my PC suspends correctly. If I put back on the original power supply the problem comes back and my PC does not suspend any more but just switches off. So I definitly think that it was a hardware problem. I think this bug should be marked as invalid. Thank you for your help anyway and sorry for the inconvenience.
