@flm The only other issue I've had is with Intel wifi which I mostly mitigate by disabling N-mode. See my comment at https://bugs.launchpad.net/ubuntu/+source/linux/+bug/994104 if you need that work-around.
I've not had the i965 problem probably because my display driver is an i915.
