This is going to sound harsh but if your bug isn't exactly libwfb
related (or you don't know why the binary driver fails to work with your
card) can you avoid posting in this particular bug and instead file a
new bug (or better yet post a message on https://answers.launchpad.net/
)? It's not fair to double the size of this bug with support requests
(additionally, if it is too painful to use Linux and you have an
alternative you are happy with then don't use it! It pains me to read
yet another post about someone struggling for hours on end and then
becoming so frustrated they will never try it again. Don't do this to
yourselves folks, life is too short).

(PS: The newer the graphics card the less likely it is to work out of
the box with Linux. The exception to the rule are Intel graphics cads
because they release drivers to support their cards BEFORE the hardware
