Public bug reported: At https://help.ubuntu.com/12.04/serverguide/ftp-server.html
Is say: " By default vsftpd is not configured to allow anonymous download. If you wish to enable anonymous download edit /etc/vsftpd.conf by changing: anonymous_enable=Yes " I just installed this and it is configured to allow anonymous connections, the default in /etc/vsftpd.conf is: "# Allow anonymous FTP? (Beware - allowed by default if you comment this out). anonymous_enable=YES #" I believe that allowing anonymous connections without realizing it is not what anyone wants! ** Affects: ubuntu-docs (Ubuntu) Importance: Undecided Status: New -- You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Bugs, which is subscribed to Ubuntu. https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/1079233 Title: Server guide documentation error concerning FTP anonymous To manage notifications about this bug go to: https://bugs.launchpad.net/ubuntu/+source/ubuntu-docs/+bug/1079233/+subscriptions -- ubuntu-bugs mailing list ubuntu-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/ubuntu-bugs
