Here a temporany workaround to make suspend work on Ubuntu 12.10 using
3.5 family kernel:

http://shiba89.wordpress.com/2012/10/25/ubuntu-12-10-linux-3-5-e-sony-
laptop/

Code:

sudo add-apt-repository ppa:shiba89/vaio-kernel
sudo apt-get update
sudo apt-get install linux-headers-generic sony-laptop-dkms

It use the 3.4 kernel module with Absence Patches: http://www.absence.it
/vaio-acpi/source/patches/
