Public bug reported:

Dear developers!
I tried to install Ubuntu 12.04 LTS. It installs and boots successfully. I
updated the system by Update manager and rebooted. After this second reboot
failed. The dark magenta boot screen appeared and nothing else.
I try to reinstall to Ubuntu 12.10 with the same result. I try official NVidia
driver before upgrading from official site. And no difference.
To solve this problem I fixed a version of the linux-image-generic to
3.5.0.17.19 by Synaptic (installed by "sudo apt-get install synaptic" ) and
upgrade the system by Update Manager. And all works successfully.

If additional information is required I will install it at USB External
HDD and try to obtain this information.

My System Information:

Notebook Lenovo IdeaPad Z580A (59-342178)
