I tried again with 12.04.1 and the symptoms persist. The segfault in syslog from `sudo synaptic` is:
synaptic[26096]: segfault at 0 ip 00007f2a088f2818 sp 00007fff87b834c0 error 4 in libstdc++.so.6.0.16[7f2a08854000+e2000] interestingly, `gksu synaptic` exits without produces anything in syslog. Unfortunately the automatic bug reporter also seems to have a problem, and I'm not sure how to appropriately collect system info otherwise. I did a 'dist-upgrade' from 11.10 to 12.04 some time ago. -- You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Bugs, which is subscribed to Ubuntu. https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/873860 Title: synaptic won't run in sudo mode and produces a segfault in the syslog To manage notifications about this bug go to: https://bugs.launchpad.net/ubuntu/+source/synaptic/+bug/873860/+subscriptions -- ubuntu-bugs mailing list ubuntu-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/ubuntu-bugs
