Public bug reported: System Motherboard ASUS M2NPV+VM (onboard video nVidia 6150, GF 430 chipset) CPU AMD 64x2 4200 Memory 1 GB DDR2 800 (6400) Running 7.04 generic I386(up to date) with nVidia 9755 drivers.
Problem, added a nVidia GS 7200, with 2 VGA monitors, left TV out connected to MB. System will now not boot, get splash, then blank screens (get blank screens, can not get to tty1 etc), or go into safe without disabling onboard video. I have tried booting with monitor hooked up to MB also no go. This is a multi-boot machine Ubuntu, (32 and 64), PClinuxOS 2007 and XP Pro. BTW PClinuxOS and XP have no problems booting or running with onboard enabled. Any ideas about what I might have to tdo to system to get Ubuntu to work the way I want? (2 monitors on 7200 for twinview and TV to 6150 to watch DVDs) System works perfectly good with either video alone, but not with both of them enabled at the same time, and only with Ubuntu, because PCLinuxOS 2007 and XP will boot properly, no matter what way I have the bios configured. Boot is failing before I get to gui login. It does not seem to be a nVidia driver problem because I can still boot into PCLinux 2007 is not affected although it is using 10014 driver while Ubuntu is the 8755, and it happens the same way with either the generic 32 or 64 boot. What logs do you want? I can cause the problem to happen and get them for you. ** Affects: Ubuntu Importance: Undecided Status: New -- Boot failure with multiple displays/cards enabled https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/124601 You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Bugs, which is the bug contact for Ubuntu. -- ubuntu-bugs mailing list ubuntu-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/ubuntu-bugs
