Robin-- I disabled hyperthreading in my system BIOS and the program did not crash during video or image manipulation as it had before. Of course, this is not a permanent solution, but at least the software can be used.
BTW-- I may be using either 1.0.0 or 0.1.5 (I compiled from source using the 1.0.0 tar on the webpage, but it says "0.1.5" in the Help=>About dialog).
