Public bug reported: i) Steps to reproduce
i.a) Attach second monitor to the system i.b) Switch to workspace switcher (super+s) i.c) Observe the size of the glow that displays the active workspace This happens in both directions. If I unplug the notebook from the docking station (and thus the two external monitors) I sometimes (?) get a too big outline on the internal screen. In the normal case I plug the notebook into the docking station and from there on I have the wrong outline. (See attached screenshot) ii) Expected result The outline adapts to the bigger screen and gets recalculated if the monitor setup changes. iii) Actual result See screenshot ProblemType: Bug DistroRelease: Ubuntu 13.04 Package: unity 6.12.0daily12.12.05-0ubuntu1 ProcVersionSignature: Ubuntu 3.7.0-6.14-generic 3.7.0 Uname: Linux 3.7.0-6-generic x86_64 .tmp.unity.support.test.0: ApportVersion: 2.7-0ubuntu2 Architecture: amd64 CompizPlugins: No value set for `/apps/compiz-1/general/screen0/options/active_plugins' CompositorRunning: compiz Date: Sat Dec 15 14:42:08 2012 DistUpgraded: 2012-11-24 13:57:52,496 DEBUG enabling apt cron job DistroCodename: raring DistroVariant: ubuntu GraphicsCard: Intel Corporation 3rd Gen Core processor Graphics Controller [8086:0166] (rev 09) (prog-if 00 [VGA controller]) Subsystem: Lenovo Device [17aa:2203] InstallationDate: Installed on 2012-09-27 (78 days ago) InstallationMedia: Ubuntu 12.10 "Quantal Quetzal" - Alpha amd64+mac (20120905.2) MachineType: LENOVO 34382BG MarkForUpload: True ProcEnviron: TERM=xterm PATH=(custom, no user) XDG_RUNTIME_DIR=<set> LANG=de_DE.UTF-8 SHELL=/bin/bash ProcKernelCmdLine: BOOT_IMAGE=/boot/vmlinuz-3.7.0-6-generic root=UUID=6546decb-91cb-4f14-8e63-196b53e87b0f ro splash quiet vt.handoff=7 SourcePackage: unity UpgradeStatus: Upgraded to raring on 2012-11-24 (21 days ago) dmi.bios.date: 05/24/2012 dmi.bios.vendor: LENOVO dmi.bios.version: GCET19WW (1.08 ) dmi.board.asset.tag: Not Available dmi.board.name: 34382BG dmi.board.vendor: LENOVO dmi.board.version: Not Available dmi.chassis.asset.tag: No Asset Information dmi.chassis.type: 10 dmi.chassis.vendor: LENOVO dmi.chassis.version: Not Available dmi.modalias: dmi:bvnLENOVO:bvrGCET19WW(1.08):bd05/24/2012:svnLENOVO:pn34382BG:pvrThinkPadX230Tablet:rvnLENOVO:rn34382BG:rvrNotAvailable:cvnLENOVO:ct10:cvrNotAvailable: dmi.product.name: 34382BG dmi.product.version: ThinkPad X230 Tablet dmi.sys.vendor: LENOVO version.compiz: compiz 1:0.9.9~daily12.12.05-0ubuntu2 version.ia32-libs: ia32-libs 20090808ubuntu36 version.libdrm2: libdrm2 2.4.40+git20121123.171666e4-0ubuntu0ricotz2~quantal version.libgl1-mesa-dri: libgl1-mesa-dri 9.1~git20121123.cff4c948-0ubuntu0ricotz2~quantal version.libgl1-mesa-dri-experimental: libgl1-mesa-dri-experimental N/A version.libgl1-mesa-glx: libgl1-mesa-glx 9.1~git20121123.cff4c948-0ubuntu0ricotz2~quantal version.xserver-xorg-core: xserver-xorg-core 2:1.13.0.902-0ubuntu1 version.xserver-xorg-input-evdev: xserver-xorg-input-evdev 1:2.7.3-0ubuntu2 version.xserver-xorg-video-ati: xserver-xorg-video-ati 1:7.0.0-0ubuntu1 version.xserver-xorg-video-intel: xserver-xorg-video-intel 2:2.20.14-0ubuntu1 version.xserver-xorg-video-nouveau: xserver-xorg-video-nouveau 1:1.0.4-0ubuntu1 xserver.bootTime: Sat Dec 15 14:40:56 2012 xserver.configfile: default xserver.logfile: /var/log/Xorg.0.log xserver.version: 2:1.13.0.902-0ubuntu1 xserver.video_driver: intel ** Affects: unity (Ubuntu) Importance: Undecided Status: New ** Tags: amd64 apport-bug compiz-0.9 raring running-unity ubuntu ** Attachment added: "Bildschirmfoto vom 2012-12-15 14:37:05.png" https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/1090713/+attachment/3460547/+files/Bildschirmfoto%20vom%202012-12-15%2014%3A37%3A05.png -- You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Bugs, which is subscribed to Ubuntu. https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/1090713 Title: workspace switcher's rectangular glow outline has wrong size in multi- monitor setup To manage notifications about this bug go to: https://bugs.launchpad.net/ubuntu/+source/unity/+bug/1090713/+subscriptions -- ubuntu-bugs mailing list ubuntu-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/ubuntu-bugs
