You did not mention where you were finding the "Details -> Graphics" links, but I'm gathering it was Gnome Shell, which is a universe package. However, we ship Unity rather than Gnome Shell as the default environment, Unity does not require anything from mesa-utils currently. So moving mesa-utils into main and installing it by default is inappropriate, as it would unnecessarily bloat the install image size.
Instead, if mesa-utils is required by Gnome Shell, it should be listed as a Recommends in the gnome-shell packaging. ** Changed in: mesa-demos (Ubuntu) Status: Confirmed => Won't Fix -- You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Bugs, which is subscribed to Ubuntu. https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/1091214 Title: Ship mesa-utils per default To manage notifications about this bug go to: https://bugs.launchpad.net/ubuntu/+source/gnome-shell/+bug/1091214/+subscriptions -- ubuntu-bugs mailing list ubuntu-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/ubuntu-bugs
