Thanks for the detailed answer. It worked in the way that I could
install php4-yaz, but now I have a new problem. Everytime I want to
install a new package on the server, apt-get informs me that something
is broken, and that php4-yaz will be removed.

Of course, I can always a) remove php4-yaz b) install the package I
want, and c) reinstall php4-yaz using dpkg -i --force-depends. But this
is a bit of a PITA.

Is there any way to make apt-get just ignore this? I tried apt-get -f
install, but it insists on wanting to remove php4-yaz.
