Looks like kernel http://people.canonical.com/~jsalisbury/lp1081876 has the bug. It worked and successfully hibernated 2-3 times and then started to fail consisntently. The difference is that it would not shutdown the machine, it bring is back to Unity screen after hibernate fails. I see a lot of errors in the console printed before it fails and goes back into unity.
