Instead of reiterating things, can please one of the affected users grab texinfo from Debian/*experimental* which contains the beta version for the next release and let me know if the problem is fixed or what else needs to be done? Then I could inform upstream and ask them to do some changes, but not with the current version in Ubuntu.
