"There is no reason to uninstall nvidia-common. It doesn't conflict with the NVIDIA installer."
Ok, fair enough. But can you give me a valid reason why ubuntu-desktop should depend on nvidia-common? It doesn't make sense from a basic sanity point of view, does it? In addtion, I have seen an issue where people have tried: sudo apt-get remove --purge nvida-* To remove nvidia drivers, and they ended up removing ubuntu-desktop by mistake. This puts the user into a potentially bad state. I would urge you to please reconsider this as a bug. -- You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Bugs, which is subscribed to Ubuntu. https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/817041 Title: Ubuntu-desktop depends on nvidia-common To manage notifications about this bug go to: https://bugs.launchpad.net/ubuntu/+source/ubuntu-meta/+bug/817041/+subscriptions -- ubuntu-bugs mailing list ubuntu-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/ubuntu-bugs
