Maybe this observation is usefull: I started using _only_ the XFCE notification area (see file:///usr/share/doc/xfce4-panel/html/C/systray.html ) and _not_ the other Ubuntu notification area (where Unity indicators will be placed). Since then, I hadn't this bugs problem anymore. (I hope it will stay like this...)
