I did an install of the verison 12.10 and the problem remains I have actually tried the https://bugs.launchpad.net/ubuntu/+source/pulseaudio/+bug/946232/comments/32 as I had with earlier versions of 12.04 similar issues. If I applied the advices of this comments (#32) on a fresh install 12.04, it does not workd and the sound problem remains. I don't think it is a duplicate of 946232.
