@Christopher: - your EFI entries have been added by Boot-Repair, you can rename them by modifying your /etc/grub.d/25_custom file. This is not related to the bug we are talking about here. - the fact that you have some "bad entries like /dev/sdXY" (that come back because automatically generated by update-grub) is exactly the bug we are talking about.
