Public bug reported:

The attached openscad file exports to STL with only a single
"union/intersection/difference" operation applied.  This was confirmed
on two different openscad models.  Building the openscad 2013.01.19 from
source and using that on the same input files produced correct STL.

This was from a raring ringtail machine.
