Running Ubuntu 12.04.1 Server uname -a = 3.2.0-35-generic #55-Ubuntu SMP Wed Dec 5 17:42:16 UTC 2012 x86_64 x86_64 x86_64 GNU/Linux
We are using NFSv4 on top of ext4, and we are also seeing the exact same behavior. The server had 16GB of memory, and appears to gobble up about 0.5 - 1GB per day until running out of memory and eventually crashing. We tried backing off to NFSv3 at one point, but with no luck. Is there any progress being made with regard to this issue?
