Hi, thank you for taking your time to report this bug and helping to make Kubuntu better. Can you please check how many kded4 processes you have running when that happens? The kde session check in /etc/acpi/powerbtn.sh isn't particulary robust and might cause that. Try commenting the shutdown command at the bottom out and please report back whether it still immediately shuts down when you press the power button.
