Somthing along the process of of setting up all of my photography
applications seems to have at least alleviated this problem. I just
queried repeatedly a canon CR2 raw properties and the Nautilus did not
hang. There may be a work around available. I did following things that
directly have affected the handling of raw files.

1. To solve the image viewer issue #967471 I renamed a file (can not remember
the exact type) to .CR2 and changed the default application for Canon raw files
to Shotwell. This way I was able to get the properties dialogue open.
2. Shot well did not work as I wanted so I installed Geeqie. At this point I
tried changing the default application for CR2 files again and now I was able
to access the file properties dialoque. I may be wrong but I suspect that the
Geeqie installed exiv2 library which enabled the raw file properties querying.

I must point out that 1 and 2 are temporarly separated and I have installed
many other things also during this intervall. Other softwares that may have
something to do with this are
1. Libraw 0.13.8 (Compiled manually to the system)
2. Luminance HDR 2.0.2 (Compiled manually to the system,
3. sudo ldconfig was run to configure libraw location for Luminance HDR.
4. Photivo
5. Rawstudio
6. Ufraw

Could someone affected by the bug try installing Geeqie and comment if
it helps?
