Mike, that's exactly what we gained by requiring apps to be whitelisted, and maintaining a whitelist mechanism for three years. That's long enough for a simple change on a key part of the UX. Community is not about doing anything anyone wants, it's about finding a way forward. That conversation kicked off three years ago.
