I had this same problem. Try adding the following lines to /etc/X11/xorg.conf in the nvidia device section:
Option "AddARGBGLXVisuals" "True" Option "DisableGLXRootClipping" "True" I had found when I tried to start compiz.real from the command-line it gave me an error, "No GLXFBConfig for depth 32." I found a post to the Ubuntu forums (http://ubuntuforums.org/showthread.php?t=193002&page=2) with this suggestion and it fixed the compiz.real crashing issue I was experiencing. -- compiz.real crashed with SIGSEGV in cairo_set_line_width() https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/122461 You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Bugs, which is the bug contact for Ubuntu. -- ubuntu-bugs mailing list ubuntu-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/ubuntu-bugs
