** Description changed:

+ When characters do not fit in the default column size, Calc displays ###
+ rather than cutting off the text. This is a feature so you know that
+ there is more data. Instead possibly an arrow can be shown to signify
+ there is more data. This is probably good behavior for numbers which
+ could be interpreted a being complete even though they are not, but
+ dates might be considered different.

  Open the example spreadsheet provided and take a look at the first
  column filled with dates in ascending order. All the cells for
  Wednesdays are displayed as "###" where I would expect something like
