** Description changed: + When characters do not fit in the default column size, Calc displays ### + rather than cutting off the text. This is a feature so you know that + there is more data. Instead possibly an arrow can be shown to signify + there is more data. This is probably good behavior for numbers which + could be interpreted a being complete even though they are not, but + dates might be considered different. + Open the example spreadsheet provided and take a look at the first column filled with dates in ascending order. All the cells for Wednesdays are displayed as "###" where I would expect something like "Wed 08.03 13" ProblemType: Bug DistroRelease: Ubuntu 12.10 Package: libreoffice-calc 1:3.6.2~rc2-0ubuntu4 ProcVersionSignature: Ubuntu 3.5.0-18.29-generic 3.5.7 Uname: Linux 3.5.0-18-generic x86_64 ApportVersion: 2.6.1-0ubuntu10 Architecture: amd64 Date: Sun Feb 24 20:59:00 2013 EcryptfsInUse: Yes InstallationDate: Installed on 2012-08-13 (195 days ago) InstallationMedia: Xubuntu 12.04 LTS "Precise Pangolin" - Release amd64 (20120425) MarkForUpload: True ProcEnviron: - TERM=xterm - PATH=(custom, no user) - XDG_RUNTIME_DIR=<set> - LANG=en_US.UTF-8 - SHELL=/bin/bash + TERM=xterm + PATH=(custom, no user) + XDG_RUNTIME_DIR=<set> + LANG=en_US.UTF-8 + SHELL=/bin/bash SourcePackage: libreoffice UpgradeStatus: Upgraded to quantal on 2012-10-19 (128 days ago) ** Bug watch added: freedesktop.org Bugzilla #52138 https://bugs.freedesktop.org/show_bug.cgi?id=52138 ** Also affects: df-libreoffice via https://bugs.freedesktop.org/show_bug.cgi?id=52138 Importance: Unknown Status: Unknown -- You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Bugs, which is subscribed to Ubuntu. https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/1132531 Title: Use an arrow to show the date is too large to fit the column, instead of ### To manage notifications about this bug go to: https://bugs.launchpad.net/df-libreoffice/+bug/1132531/+subscriptions -- ubuntu-bugs mailing list ubuntu-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/ubuntu-bugs
