I have the same problem with 3.5.0-25 kernel on ubuntu 12.04.2 LTS and I had same problem with ubuntu 12.10. By the it seems that fedora team solved the problem with xorg-x11-drv-ati-7.0.0-0.9 driver. Is it possible to use the same driver with ubuntu?
