Firstly, my apologies for the delay commenting back about this bug. I
have had a busier than normal few months studying for pilot school and
since I have three operating systems on this machine, if one of them
isnt working when I'm busy I tend to just make do with one of the others
until I have time to come back to the problem, hence the delay!

I tried the suggestion put forward by Joseph (thanks for that) back in
December but it didnt clear the problem. I keep getting the same issue
each time 12.10 tries to self update. I tried resubmitting the problem
today and the system declined to submit the report because I had already
reported it... I think that is a pretty neat feature, so complements to
the developers for implementing a common sense reporting path that
works!

Anyway back to the problem. I still have the same issue with this core
package failing to update. Since I originally reported the issue, some
things have updated and some things haven't so what I will do right now
is attempt Joseph's cleanup command lines again and I will report back
in the next 15 minutes or so whether the problem resolved.

back shortly...

Al
