Same problem with my laptop 3.2.0-38-generic #61-Ubuntu SMP Tue Feb 19 12:18:21 UTC 2013 x86_64 x86_64 x86_64 GNU/Linux with fresh updates. I have the impression that this in my case always happened when the update manager starts automatically. I friend of mine, whom I installed her laptop to try Ubuntu along with Windows also has this error message quite a lot of times.
