Hi Sparhawk, It seems that you are correct. I also don't have the time to keep testing each combination of kernel/bios update to see if it's working. It just feels a bit weird to wait for random change to fix this instead of trying to track it down and fix it. If the problem is upstream and Ubuntu is not going to do anything about it, then they could at least put the link for the upstream bug report so the person affected by this bug can track the progress there.
