Public bug reported:

I had Ubuntu 12.04 installed and running on a Dell E6520 for six months
without a single issue. I recently purchased a Dell E6530 and traded
hard drives. I have had no issues while plugged into AC power, but
frequently when I run on batteries the laptop would completely freeze.
Only the power key would respond with a complete power off. Most of
time it happens while running either Chome or Firefox, but it has
happened when neither of them were running. I cannot find any pattern
as to when the freeze will occur. Sometimes it runs for 30 minutes and
then the next time it will freeze within a minute of logging in.

I did a fresh install of Ubuntu 12.04 (64bit) on this same machine and
the freezes still occur. I have not had a single freeze while on AC
power.

** Affects: acpi-support (Ubuntu)
     Importance: Undecided
         Status: New
