Public bug reported: I had Ubuntu 12.04 installed and running on a Dell E6520 for six months without a single issue. I recently purchased a Dell E6530 and traded hard drives. I have had no issues while plugged into AC power, but frequently when I run on batteries the laptop would completely freeze. Only the power key would respond with a complete power off. Most of time it happens while running either Chome or Firefox, but it has happened when neither of them were running. I cannot find any pattern as to when the freeze will occur. Sometimes it runs for 30 minutes and then the next time it will freeze within a minute of logging in.
I did a fresh install of Ubuntu 12.04 (64bit) on this same machine and the freezes still occur. I have not had a single freeze while on AC power. ** Affects: acpi-support (Ubuntu) Importance: Undecided Status: New -- You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Bugs, which is subscribed to Ubuntu. https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/1155370 Title: Dell E6530 Freezes while running on battery To manage notifications about this bug go to: https://bugs.launchpad.net/ubuntu/+source/acpi-support/+bug/1155370/+subscriptions -- ubuntu-bugs mailing list ubuntu-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/ubuntu-bugs
