I just had another update (which presumably changed the kernel patch version as uname still says its 3.2.0-38 Kernel) but the same thing happened again. Its extremely annoying. I have now figured out how to switch the driver from the command prompt using 'update-alternatives' which makes it slightly less painful.
NOTE: just spotted a typo in my last comment: the last paragraph in my previous comment should have read: "I then reboot with 3.2.0-38 which booted to graphical login as the installed driver is nvidia-304. This works as expected." -- You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Bugs, which is subscribed to Ubuntu. https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/1132092 Title: 12.04 LTS kernel 3.2.0-38 cannot get to graphical boot To manage notifications about this bug go to: https://bugs.launchpad.net/ubuntu/+source/linux/+bug/1132092/+subscriptions -- ubuntu-bugs mailing list ubuntu-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/ubuntu-bugs
