** Description changed: Not sure when this started but recently when I plug in my headphones the sound output becomes garbled but only for movie players (vlc / dragon). Sound is OK for amarok but switches to mono (pavucontrol appears to think it is stereo but the sound output is mono (yes the headphones are stereo!)). - This definitely worked previously (kubuntu 12.04) and i think, but - cannot be sure, that the problem started after recent updates. + This definitely worked previously (kubuntu 12.04) and i think, but cannot be sure, that the problem started after recent updates. + --- + AlsaVersion: Advanced Linux Sound Architecture Driver Version 1.0.24. + ApportVersion: 2.0.1-0ubuntu17.1 + Architecture: amd64 + ArecordDevices: + **** List of CAPTURE Hardware Devices **** + card 0: PCH [HDA Intel PCH], device 0: Cirrus Analog [Cirrus Analog] + Subdevices: 1/1 + Subdevice #0: subdevice #0 + AudioDevicesInUse: + USER PID ACCESS COMMAND + /dev/snd/controlC0: matt 16459 F.... pulseaudio + Card0.Amixer.info: + Card hw:0 'PCH'/'HDA Intel PCH at 0xa0600000 irq 48' + Mixer name : 'Intel CougarPoint HDMI' + Components : 'HDA:10134206,106b5b00,00100302 HDA:80862805,80860101,00100000' + Controls : 30 + Simple ctrls : 10 + DistroRelease: Ubuntu 12.04 + InstallationMedia: Ubuntu 12.04 LTS "Precise Pangolin" - Release amd64+mac (20120425.1) + MarkForUpload: True + NonfreeKernelModules: wl + Package: pulseaudio 1:1.1-0ubuntu15.2 + PackageArchitecture: amd64 + ProcEnviron: + LANGUAGE=en_GB:en + TERM=xterm + PATH=(custom, no user) + LANG=en_GB.UTF-8 + SHELL=/bin/tcsh + ProcVersionSignature: Ubuntu 3.2.0-38.61-generic 3.2.37 + Tags: precise + Uname: Linux 3.2.0-38-generic x86_64 + UpgradeStatus: No upgrade log present (probably fresh install) + UserGroups: adm cdrom dip lpadmin plugdev sambashare sudo + dmi.bios.date: 01/24/2012 + dmi.bios.vendor: Apple Inc. + dmi.bios.version: MBA41.88Z.0077.B0F.1201241549 + dmi.board.asset.tag: Base Board Asset Tag# + dmi.board.name: Mac-742912EFDBEE19B3 + dmi.board.vendor: Apple Inc. + dmi.board.version: MacBookAir4,2 + dmi.chassis.type: 10 + dmi.chassis.vendor: Apple Inc. + dmi.chassis.version: Mac-742912EFDBEE19B3 + dmi.modalias: dmi:bvnAppleInc.:bvrMBA41.88Z.0077.B0F.1201241549:bd01/24/2012:svnAppleInc.:pnMacBookAir4,2:pvr1.0:rvnAppleInc.:rnMac-742912EFDBEE19B3:rvrMacBookAir4,2:cvnAppleInc.:ct10:cvrMac-742912EFDBEE19B3: + dmi.product.name: MacBookAir4,2 + dmi.product.version: 1.0 + dmi.sys.vendor: Apple Inc. ** Attachment added: "AlsaDevices.txt" https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/1157465/+attachment/3584909/+files/AlsaDevices.txt -- You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Bugs, which is subscribed to Ubuntu. https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/1157465 Title: headphone output garbled for movie players (more...)
