Have tested 3.9 rc3 raring kernel,(from 17 march) installed 64bit version and the extras.deb
Problem persists on 3.9 kernel. ** Description changed: + the laptop connected to an external display, it is driving only the external display when attached. if the hdmi cable is removed whilst lid is closed, upon opening the lid computer locks up- display does not come on. if lid is opened beforehand and the hdmi cable is removed, it causes system to crash, displaying screen corruption, being unresponsive to any input(capslock on /of virtual terminal etc). + + *****UPDATE 20 Mar 2013**** + + It seems that simply entering a virual console, and trying to revert + back to the gui (ctrl+alt +f7, without reloading lightdm) also crashes + the system , causing screen corruption.
