Scott, I'm using the 3.6 kernel, the generic one. I actually discovered that the kernel I thought didn't have the problem (-35), did. I still have no idea what caused the issue, and I'm no longer interested in finding out (though I am interested in knowing). Not knowing how to trigger a freeze, and having my system freeze randomly was really quite disruptive. And I've got better things to do with my time. I haven't tried the latest 3.2 kernels, and I won't for that reason. The only problem I've noticed with 3.6 is that sound through the internal speakers doesn't work, I have to use headphones.
Out of interest, what software do you run that was running when the freeze happened? (Above I mentioned that I had FreeCiv, Firefox and Rhythmbox running, among other programs, when the freezes happened.) -- You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Bugs, which is subscribed to Ubuntu. https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/1065490 Title: total system freeze To manage notifications about this bug go to: https://bugs.launchpad.net/ubuntu/+source/linux/+bug/1065490/+subscriptions -- ubuntu-bugs mailing list ubuntu-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/ubuntu-bugs
