I'm confused as to where the commits referenced by tjaalton in comment #19 live, but for what it's worth, I seem to have a stable system after applying reverse diffs of the following commits from the linux-3.5.y branch of git://kernel.ubuntu.com/ubuntu/linux.git to the 3.5.0-27.45 sources:
2964148 - drm/i915: Implement WaDisableHiZPlanesWhenMSAAEnabled 899b550 - drm/i915: GFX_MODE Flush TLB Invalidate Mode must be '1' for scanline waits Just reverting the first, or using jsalisbury's kernel from comment #22 (ignore my comment #23, I was being an idiot and forgot the modules) gives me a GPU hang and/or graphics corruption within minutes, especially quickly if opening Firefox. After reverting both of the above, I haven't been able to hang the system yet. -- You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Bugs, which is subscribed to Ubuntu. https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/1140716 Title: [regression] 3.5.0-26-generic GPU hangs To manage notifications about this bug go to: https://bugs.launchpad.net/ubuntu/+source/linux/+bug/1140716/+subscriptions -- ubuntu-bugs mailing list ubuntu-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/ubuntu-bugs
