Thank you for taking the time to report this bug and helping to make
Ubuntu better.

My first thought was that uid is by definition numeric. However,
mount.cifs(8) says:

    It may be specified as either a username or a numeric uid.

You haven't included full Ubuntu package version information. Please
could you run the command "apport-collect 1157919" on an affected system
to automatically pick this information up and submit it to the bug?

Once done, please change the bug status back to New.

The next step is to check if the latest upstream version still has this
bug by compiling it from source. Are you able to do this, please?
