With the patch I had posted earlier, "ieee80211 phy0: brcms_ops_config: Error setting power_level" error messages have disappeared completely. It also caused the frequency of "ieee80211 phy0: brcms_c_prec_enq_head: No where to go, prec == 4" messages to drop significantly, until last night when dmesg was suddenly flooded with these messages (one every 2 seconds). Network connection stopped working at this point. Disconnecting from AP and reconnecting fixed the problem. So, the problem is not solved fully yet.
