I experienced this bug in Ubuntu 12.10. Commenting out fd0 in fstab and running echo "blacklist floppy" | sudo tee /etc/modprobe.d/blacklist-floppy.conf && sudo rmmod floppy && sudo update-initramfs -u solved the problem
