Short follow up on this 1) I run apport when running linux 3.2.0-38-generic
2) I have tried to install 3.9.0-030900rc5-generic but got an error Estrazione di linux-image-extra-3.9.0-030900rc5-generic (da .../linux-image-extra-3.9.0-030900rc5-generic_3.9.0-030900rc5.201303311835_i386.deb)... dpkg: problemi con le dipendenze impediscono la configurazione di linux-headers-3.9.0-030900rc5-generic: linux-headers-3.9.0-030900rc5-generic dipende da linux-headers-3.9.0-030900rc5, ma: Il pacchetto linux-headers-3.9.0-030900rc5 non รจ installato. It is in Italian and it complains that it can't configure linux- headers-3.9.0-030900rc5-generic there are dependencies to linux- headers-3.9.0-030900rc5 but linux-headers-3.9.0-030900rc5 is not installed. please advice if I have to install linux-headers-3.9.0-030900rc5 first.
