I can too confirm this on Feisty.

- Deleted files are moved (correctly) to ~/.Trash on my home partition.
- Tha trash applet is always empty.

I don't understand why this is assigned to gnome-applets. If I navigate
to "trash:" with Nautilus, I see the same behavior (directory empyt).
Doesn't this have to do with gnome-vfs?
