I can confim that the patch proposed by Chris (1000 thanks) worked for the audio of my shiny new laptop, a toshiba U305-S5077. Audio reproduces well. Unfortunately, the mic level is really low. This laptop has a built in mic/camera, maybe there is some inconsistence with this. If you think it's of interest, I will collect all the info in the Debugging Page and paste it. Thanks!
