Public bug reported: We've been asked by Intel to backport the following patches to enable "Haswell ULT with Lynx point core". It's been tested and confirmed working by Intel under the 3.8 kernel. I think it makes sense to backport them to the 3.5 kernel too.
1. commit 7b9f35a6dd72f89452c58bbdbaf063027bf857ec Author: Wang Xingchao <xingchao.w...@intel.com> Date: Tue Jan 22 23:25:25 2013 +0800 drm/i915: HDMI/DP - ELD info refresh support for Haswell * The above is in the 3.9-rc1 kernel. I lack the driver knowledge to do a proper review. 2. commit 4a7c516bf0cd697dbbee11db6258e3b3146e41a6 Author: Wang Xingchao <xingchao.w...@linux.intel.com> Date: Fri Feb 1 22:42:19 2013 +0800 ALSA - HDA: New PCI ID for Haswell ULT * The above is in the 3.9-rc1 kernel. Very low regression risk (just adds another ID). Can be cherry-picked as is for 3.8, needs backport for 3.5. 3.commit a15d05db41b1d5c9f2c3af11dfbfd46818cc64ba Author: Mengdong Lin <mengdong....@intel.com> Date: Fri Feb 8 17:09:31 2013 -0500 ALSA: hda - Support rereading widgets under the function group * The above is in the 3.9-rc1 kernel. Adds new code that isn't used by anything (except the patch below), so can just be added. 4. commit 1611a9c931e95fab871a33beba49cc9ea39bbba8 Author: Mengdong Lin <mengdong....@intel.com> Date: Fri Feb 8 17:09:52 2013 -0500 ALSA: hda - Add fixup for Haswell to enable all pin and convertor widgets * The above is in the 3.9-rc1 kernel. It seems very targeted towards a specific board. I wonder how much sense it does to actually backport this one. I'm asking Intel about it. ** Affects: linux (Ubuntu) Importance: Undecided Assignee: David Henningsson (diwic) Status: Incomplete ** Changed in: linux (Ubuntu) Status: New => Incomplete ** Changed in: linux (Ubuntu) Assignee: (unassigned) => David Henningsson (diwic) -- You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Bugs, which is subscribed to Ubuntu. https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/1167308 Title: [SRU 3.5 and 3.8] Haswell ULT Hdmi Audio: Please backport patches to 3.5 and 3.8 To manage notifications about this bug go to: https://bugs.launchpad.net/ubuntu/+source/linux/+bug/1167308/+subscriptions -- ubuntu-bugs mailing list ubuntu-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/ubuntu-bugs
