Public bug reported: I have tried installing ubuntu 12.10 now twice on my laptop. The first time, I got the same error message along the lines of what is listed in the summary, but it just said installation was complete. I had a grub rescue error, so I tried the live USB again (made by unetbootin). This time, I got the error message, but the installation terminated. I probably should just redownload the iso file, as I have successfully installed ubuntu on this laptop in the past (including quantal).
