Yeah. The laptop's highest resolution is 1366x768 and the HDTV is the lower value. What changed is that both could co-exist with the mirrored display unchecked, but now when the HDMI cable is plugged it the laptop display acts as if the size is larger than it really is, with no launcher or bottom dock (Cairo) and my desktop icons just off the left edge where the launcher normally is.
Unplugging the HTMI cable restores the display as it should be, without even changing the display settings. What's needed is separate control of the displays as in (I hate to say it) Windows. -- You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Bugs, which is subscribed to Ubuntu. https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/1169333 Title: Screen resolution too low and missing launcher when connected to HDTV via HDMI To manage notifications about this bug go to: https://bugs.launchpad.net/ubuntu/+source/xorg/+bug/1169333/+subscriptions -- ubuntu-bugs mailing list ubuntu-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/ubuntu-bugs
